Overview
Invoice Ledger is an invoicing, estimate, job, and expense tracking app for self-employed tradespeople. The app is designed to operate locally on your device. We do not operate servers that collect or store your business data.
Information We Do Not Collect
Invoice Ledger does not collect, store, or transmit your personal or business data to external servers.
- There's no account or sign-up — we don't collect a name, email address, or personal identifier tied to you.
- We do not receive your clients, invoices, estimates, jobs, expenses, photos, or backup files.
- We do not track your location.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
iCloud Sync
If your device is signed into iCloud, Invoice Ledger can sync your data through Apple's CloudKit service into your own private iCloud database — the same mechanism apps like Notes or Reminders use. Only you can access this data across your own devices; we do not have access to it, and we do not operate the servers it's stored on. If you're not signed into iCloud, or turn iCloud access off for the app, everything continues to work locally on your device.
Camera and Photo Library
If you grant permission, Invoice Ledger lets you attach photos — job-site photos, receipts, your company logo — to invoices, jobs, and expenses using your device's camera or photo library. These photos are stored the same way as everything else described here: locally, and optionally synced to your own private iCloud. We never receive a copy of any photo you take or choose in the app.
Face ID / Touch ID
The app can lock itself behind Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. This authentication happens entirely on your device using Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. We never see, receive, or store any biometric data.
Local Storage
The app stores data locally on your device, including:
- Business profile and invoice templates
- Client details such as name, email, phone, and address
- Invoices, estimates, line items, tax rates, and payments
- Jobs, job checklists, and job-linked expenses
- Photos attached to invoices, jobs, and expenses
- App preferences such as language and security settings
This data remains on your device (and your own private iCloud, if enabled) unless you choose to export, back up, or share it.
Export, Backup, and Sharing
Invoice Ledger allows you to export CSV reports, a full data/PDF archive, and a restorable backup file, and to send invoices and estimates by email, text, or share sheet. These files and messages are created and sent only when you choose to.
Once you share an exported file or send an invoice through another app or service, that app or service handles the data according to its own privacy practices.
Third-Party Services
Invoice Ledger does not use third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
Children's Privacy
Invoice Ledger is a business tool for invoicing and job tracking. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
